lyrics
Feel the amber burn;
smoke seeping up through my battered lungs
Exhale the breath of life
I know exactly how I'll die. Reload the gun
I noticed how you've been walkin'
A new dance and how you're talking. Man you've changed.
The follower's the fool
Bow down to your rules
Left, right, left!
From the north we've come to raid
South bound to rule your town
Time is knocking at the door to get paid
Are you worth bringing to life?
As I get a little older
I see the manipulation and the lies
Getting right fucked
By the man in the suit and the tie
I see them dollar signs
Glistening in your souless dead eyes
Feeding off the man
Regurgitate his chant
Left, right, left!
From the north we've come to raid
South bound to rule your town
As the joy is replaced by the pain
I got a feeling you'll figure it out
And the gas is poured on the flame
Ignite your suicide
Time is knocking at the door to get paid
Are you worth bringing to life?
You used to be a friend of mine
I gotta say I miss them good ol' times
Getting roped in, throat slit,
Hog tied that's fine
It's almost like you've turned into
the kind of person you hate
Chained at the hip, locked up, iron grip
Left, right, left
Pretty much the best Black/Speed Metal I've listened to since I learned about Evil Invaders and Vulture. Everything you'd love to be reminded of about this musical era is there. The influences are what you'd expect too: Motörhead, Venom, Bathory, early Slayer, Celtic Frost; aggressive vocals, tortured guitar solos, pounding drums; everything is fast, clear and still a little grimy, but without reverb cranked up to the max. Amazing band, amazing album. Odiumediae
OMG, late to the party but this is some of the best occult infused doom stoner tackle I've ever heard. Reference points include Sabbath (obvs), especially with the Ozzy-esque vocals but there's also the melodiousness of early Heep mixing with a more contemporary occult rock sound. It starts in the 70's and makes it to the present day. The riffs are huge but it's their way with a hook that elevates this from your average doom/stoner fare. Very wonderful indeed! egg-magoo
This album is an absolute banger. The riffs are especially groovy this time, the vocals are amazing, and the overall thing is supercatchy. If I'd have to list one downside, it's that the mix is so bass-heavy that the sound only truely comes into it's right when listened on good headphones or extremely good speakers. On anything less it can sound like the bass drowns the rest of the music out. 9/10 Buzzario
