lyrics
Blinding light beneath the shade
And time stands still and the night remains
Embrace my fate while facing the decay
And I'll pray that I'll see that day
Chasing life just to reach the end
And hanging on to all that's left
I'll see myself in the flames of this hell
I'm afraid to be like the rest
Lay me down
At last I rest to mute the noise
The wailing screams have filled the void
So take my home, my family, my bones
You leave me with just one choice
Lay me down
I made my bed
But I'll stand instead
I've paid my dues
I can't die, I won't die, this death is for me not you
Pretty much the best Black/Speed Metal I've listened to since I learned about Evil Invaders and Vulture. Everything you'd love to be reminded of about this musical era is there. The influences are what you'd expect too: Motörhead, Venom, Bathory, early Slayer, Celtic Frost; aggressive vocals, tortured guitar solos, pounding drums; everything is fast, clear and still a little grimy, but without reverb cranked up to the max. Amazing band, amazing album. Odiumediae
OMG, late to the party but this is some of the best occult infused doom stoner tackle I've ever heard. Reference points include Sabbath (obvs), especially with the Ozzy-esque vocals but there's also the melodiousness of early Heep mixing with a more contemporary occult rock sound. It starts in the 70's and makes it to the present day. The riffs are huge but it's their way with a hook that elevates this from your average doom/stoner fare. Very wonderful indeed! egg-magoo
This album is an absolute banger. The riffs are especially groovy this time, the vocals are amazing, and the overall thing is supercatchy. If I'd have to list one downside, it's that the mix is so bass-heavy that the sound only truely comes into it's right when listened on good headphones or extremely good speakers. On anything less it can sound like the bass drowns the rest of the music out. 9/10 Buzzario
