Living through addiction. Living through the past
I see my dark reflection staring right back
With it's blood shot eyes finger pointed right at me
He mouthed “I'm gonna kill you” set your tortured soul free
Where's the devil when you need him? I'm feeling all alone
My inner self is itching to find a buried home
Will my will still kill even if I'm gonna die
The hand of death keeps creeping up my shattered spine
I'll go. Where I don't know.
I'll follow all the signs that point to dagger road
Hell is getting closer. It's warming up my feet
And tensions getting tighter my heart is skipping beats
And my head is getting heavy it's pointed at the ground
My only true direction is down, down, down
My mind is getting weaker it teeters on the tracks
And the slightest gust of wind decides what happens next
With a penny as my fortune will it buy enough to eat?
Before I hit the road my foot must start on the street
I'll go. Where I don't know.
I'll follow all the signs that point to dagger road
As I walk towards the gallows my spirt is at ease
Suppress my fading ego tears roll down my cheeks
As the final grain of sand hits the hour glasses base
I wish you knew I loved you but it's far too late
Pretty much the best Black/Speed Metal I've listened to since I learned about Evil Invaders and Vulture. Everything you'd love to be reminded of about this musical era is there. The influences are what you'd expect too: Motörhead, Venom, Bathory, early Slayer, Celtic Frost; aggressive vocals, tortured guitar solos, pounding drums; everything is fast, clear and still a little grimy, but without reverb cranked up to the max. Amazing band, amazing album. Odiumediae
OMG, late to the party but this is some of the best occult infused doom stoner tackle I've ever heard. Reference points include Sabbath (obvs), especially with the Ozzy-esque vocals but there's also the melodiousness of early Heep mixing with a more contemporary occult rock sound. It starts in the 70's and makes it to the present day. The riffs are huge but it's their way with a hook that elevates this from your average doom/stoner fare. Very wonderful indeed! egg-magoo
This album is an absolute banger. The riffs are especially groovy this time, the vocals are amazing, and the overall thing is supercatchy. If I'd have to list one downside, it's that the mix is so bass-heavy that the sound only truely comes into it's right when listened on good headphones or extremely good speakers. On anything less it can sound like the bass drowns the rest of the music out. 9/10 Buzzario
